August 2009 Newsletter

On August 6th: We had our “Shake a Can” fund-raising event. Once again it was a HUGE success. Several cadets and senior members volunteered to help our squadron raise over $1,300.00. A BIG thank you to the Cassanelli’s for inviting the squadron to their home for a barbecue.

The “Ice Cream Social” on August 15th: Another great recruiting event along with some tasty treats.

On August 29th: Our squadron volunteered to help out with traffic control at the 2nd Annual Elizabeth Hutchinson 5K Memorial Race. The road race took place on Saturday morning, unfortunately it rained all morning. Still a big turn-out, many runners and walkers participated in the race. Thanks to all Senior members as well as Cadets who helped make this event a success.

CONGRATULATIONS to two of our Senior Members: Senior Kevin Lynch has promoted to Lt. Colonel and Senior Stephen Boyd has promoted to 2nd Lt.

September 13th – “Family Day” @ Otis. All family members are welcome. There will be 2 aircraft from the Brockton/Taunton Squadron, a recruiting table, rides/games, face painting, and lots of fun. Fun starts at 1000 hours. Senior members and Cadets that will be volunteering for this event should arrive at the CAP building by 0900 hours in BDU’s.

CONGRATULATIONS to 1Lt. Taylor Lahteine who promoted to the position of Cadet Commander. Also promoted were Cadet Airman 1st Class Andrew Bowles and Kyle Ouelette who promoted to Cadet Senior Airman.
