July 2009 Newsletter
On July 19, 2009 our squadron participated in the SAREX (Search and Rescue exercise) located at Worcester Airport. Great turn-out …Six Senior Members and 4 Cadets participated. The exercise involved a simulated plane crash with casualties and the squadron was trained on the equipment used for the search and rescue as well as basic first aide needed to assist wounded victims until proper Emergency Medical Teams arrived. We had lots of fun and learned some valuable lessons….
On July 25, 2009 our squadron was tasked to assist the Mashpee Commons and the Mashpee Police and Fire Departments with traffic/crowd control and overall safety for the Mashpee Night at The Pops event. This event is the biggest money earner for our Squadron which enables us to purchase uniform items and send Cadets to training camps in other states with little to no cost for their families, as well as other miscellaneous costs that we incur throughout the year. A BIG Thank You to all who helped make this event a huge success!! We look forward to participating in this event again next summer.
